WINGS OF HOPE
We are thrilled to bring you the 2nd edition of the Wings of Hope Breast Cancer Resource Guide. This guide will supply the newly diagnosed woman with the tools and resources she'll need to navigate through her breast cancer journey.
The sixteen chapters include information such as certified mammography facilities, a complete list of services that are provided by area hospitals, places to find wigs and prosthesis, information on clinical trials, and types of support groups that are available.
The listings cover the Komen West Michigan Affiliate's service area which includes Kent, Muskegon, Montcalm, Newaygo and Ottawa counties. Helpful resources such as internet sites, recommended books, and medical terms and definitions will help women find additional information pertaining to breast cancer. At the beginning of each chapter, messages of hope and encouragement are given by local breast cancer survivors that have generously shared their stories.
The books will be dispersed to newly diagnosed women through local breast surgeons' offices as well as the Komen Affiliate Office.
